
Pecan Toffee
After making this the first time, it was gone the first day and I knew I should have hid a private stash, its incredible! It will become one of those goodies you make for the holidays and parties. You'll look for any reason to make some! You will need a thermometer to be sure of the temperature when boiling this. Hope you love this as much as we do!
Equipment
- 1 8 x 10 inch baking pan
- 1 thermometer
- 1 small sauce pan
- 1 off-set spatula
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Roasted Pecans, divided chopped
- 1 Cup Sugar (200g)
- 1 Cup Butter (227g) softened
- 1/3 Cup Water (79g)
- 5 Milk Chocolate Bars broken into pieces
Instructions
- Line 8 x 10 inch baking pan with parchment paper and sprinkle with 1 cup of pecans.
- Bring sugar, butter and water to a boil in the small sauce pan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Keep stirring until the temperature reaches 310℉ /154℃ (hard crack stage).
- Pour over pecans and sprinkle with chocolate pieces. Wait 30 seconds until the chocolate melts and use an off-set spatula to spread it around. Top off with remaining pecans.
- Chill for 30 minutes and remove from baking dish and break up.
