Homemade lasagna is a classic Italian dish made by layering flat pasta sheets with rich, savory ingredients like tomato sauce, ground meat, and creamy cheeses such as ricotta or mozzarella. Equipment

  • 9 x 13 deep casserole dish
  • mixing bowl
  • large sauce pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 jars pasta sauce use your favorite
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 8 lasagna noodles cook el dente
  • 32 oz ricotta cheese container
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • To a large sauce pan brown the ground beef and add the pasta sauce and garlic cloves, set aside.
  • Boil the lasagna noodles to el dente, they will finish baking in the oven. Drain and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl add ricotta cheese, eggs and Italian seasoning, mix well and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Using the casserole dish start by layering four lasagna noodles on the bottom, add the ricotta cheese mixture, add the meat and sauce layer and add 1 1/2 cups of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the same layer again.
  • Bake at 350℉ for approximately 35 minutes or until the cheese is brown and bubbly on the top.

Notes

This a fantastic dish for freezing and in a sealed container place in the freezer for up to three months.  If you cook this in a disposable casserole dish you can freeze the entire lasagna.  Be sure to let it fully cool before covering it and putting it in the freezer.
