Its the perfect size little honey bar you ever had! Not overly sweet and the flakes of salt bring out every ounce of joy this little bars packs! Its a quick and easy recipe to follow a perfect when you have a sweet tooth or in a pinch. Enjoy!

Equipment

  • 1 8 x 8 inch baking pan
  • 1 sauce pan
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Tablespoons Butter unsalted
  • 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/3 Cup Honey
  • 3/4 Cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg room temperature
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Roasted Pecans chopped
  • Flaky Sea Salt and more Pecans for topping optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ / 176℃ and line a 8 x 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt butter, applesauce and honey in a sauce pan and stir in the brown sugar and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add the all-purpose flour and salt and mix until just combined. Stir in the roasted pecans.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared pan, smoothing the top and spreading the batter around evenly. Add a few more pecans on top and flaked salt, if desired.
  • Bake for 24-28 minutes and until the edges are lightly browned. Place on a wire rack until cool and cut into pieces.
