Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee / 28g room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream / 14g
  • 2 teaspoons espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 16 tablespoons unsalted butter / 226g softened
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar / 452g

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine the coffee, cream, espresso powder, and vanilla. Whisk to combine and dissolve the espresso powder.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the flat beater, beat the butter and salt on medium speed until very smooth, about a minute.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add the confectioners’ sugar and coffee mixture.
  • Beat the ingredients together on low speed until the sugar is incorporated, then increase the speed to medium; continue to beat until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes
