Whipped Cream
Homemade whipped cream is a light, fluffy topping made by beating heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. It's a versatile, rich addition to desserts, beverages, or fresh fruit, offering a fresh, creamy flavor that's far superior to store-bought versions.
Equipment
- 1 electric mixer
- 1 mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup confectionery sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract on medium-high speed until medium peaks form, about 3–4 minutes.
- Use immediately or cover tightly and chill in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Freezing prepared whipped cream sometimes causes it to lose its creamy texture, but it works.
