Ingredients
  

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter / 113g softened
  • 2 to 2 ½ cups confectioners sugar / 227g to 283g
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup / 39g
  • ½ teaspoon maple flavoring / extract plus more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon milk plus more as needed
  • ¼ teaspoon table salt

Instructions
 

  • Beat the softened butter on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Gradually add the confectioners sugar, ½ cup at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated, then increasing to medium speed until smooth.
  • Mix in the maple syrup, maple flavoring, and salt, beating until fully combined.
  • Add milk, one teaspoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency, adjusting as needed.
  • Continue to beat on high for 1–2 minutes until light and fluffy, then drizzle with extra maple syrup if desired, and spread or pipe onto cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts.
